Overview:
Ben Dror Yemini was born in Tel Aviv in 1954 from Yemeni Jewish parents. He studied humanities and history in Tel Aviv university and continued his studies in law and became a lawyer. He switched to journalism in 1984. In 2003, he started working as a journalist for the Israeli Maariv newspaper. He currently writes for the Yedioth Ahronoth, starting since 2014. Yemeni has also been an advisor to Israel’s “Ministry of Immigration Absorption” and later became the ministry’s spokesperson.
Intellectual Zionist propagandist
Yemeni symbolizes what the Tel Aviv regime has sought to create as an intellectual whitewashing of Israel crafted for academic and international audiences.
In 2014, Yemini wrote a book titled “The Industry of Lies” criticizing media outlets for claiming that Israel is abusing Palestinians when – he claimed- it is treating Palestinians properly and with dignity.1 Most of Yemini’s work is similar to the line of thought presented in his 2014 book, whitewashing Israel’s crimes and portraying the country as a just and democratic country.
The infamous Israeli politician and a brutal military commander Ehud Barak has praised Yemeni, saying that Yemini exposes what he described as “fake anti-Israel news and information”.
Like many other pro-Israel propagandists, Yemeni believes that anti-Zionism is just a cover-up for “anti-Semitism”.2
Sharaka Institute
Yemeni is one of the board members of the Sharaka institute, an Emirati institute promoting normalization with Israel among Arab nations. This is while he can be considered as a de-facto behind-the-scene manager of the supposedly “Arab” institute.
