David Brog

David Brog is an unusually well connected, lowkey yet influential pro-Israel networker, fulfilling the role of a middleman between wealthy Zionist lobbyists and major pro-Israel initiatives in the US and around the world. Among his projects, Brog currently heads these pro-Israel projects/organizations:

The Maccabee Task Force (supported by the Milstein, Adelson & Saban trio)
• The Emergency Committee for America
• The Edmund Burke Foundation

Brog is also most recently working as the co-founder of the Sharaka Institute, pushing for Arab recognition of Israeli occupation of Palestine.

David Brog was also the former executive director of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), an influential organization dedicated to persuading Christians to adhere to Zionism and portraying Christianity as a religion serving Zionist and “Judeo-Christian” ideals.

Brog has written 3 books, with a focus on legitimizing Israel and presenting Zionism as a Christian belief:

• Standing with Israel: Why Christians Support the Jewish State (2006)
• In Defense of Faith: The Judeo-Chrsitians Idea and the Struggle for Humanity (2010)
• Reclaiming Israel’s History: Roots, Rights and the Struggle for Peace (2017)

Extensive Political & Business Networking

Brog lives in Washington DC and has graduated from Harvard law school. He has served as the CEO of the online service provider America Online. Brog has also worked in many law firms both in the US and Israel. He worked 7 years in the US Senate as the chief of staff to senator Arlen Specter and the staff director of the Senate Judiciary committee.

High Profile Contacts

Brog is surprisingly simultaneously a close affiliate of left-leaning Israel lobbyist Haim Sabban, right-leaning Israel lobbyist Sheldon Adelson and Israel’s former prime minister Ehud Barak.

Brog is in fact Ehud Barak’s nephew. It is worth noting that Barak also previously went by the surname “Brog,” but changed it to “Barak” in 1972 to reflect the name’s true Hebrew origin.1

It is also worth noting that Haim Saban, one of Brog’s main contacts, is also closely connected with Ehud Barack, at times even providing a backchannel for diplomatic ties between Washington and Tel Aviv.2

Brog also had close ties with the now-dead Sheldon Adelson. Describing his ties with Adelson, Brog says:

“In 2015, my wife and I moved to Las Vegas to build a new pro-Israel organization together with Sheldon and Miriam Adelson. We were excited to work with these legendary philanthropists. We knew that with their vision and support, we’d be able to make a real difference. “

The Maccabee Task Force

In 2015, David Brog was chosen as the head of the “Maccabee Taskforce3 ”, a Zionist group dedicated to fighting the pro-Palestine Boycott, Divest and Sanctions movement with a focus on US campuses. The main figures behind this initiative were Sheldon Adelson and Haim Saban, two Zionist billionaires who have wide influence within Republican and Democrat circles, respectively.

Speaking about BDS, Brog has said that “it’s the number 1 non-military threat to Israel and the Jewish people.”

“Our goal is to change the younger generation from neutral, if not opposed to, Israel to support of Israel,” he added.4

The Emergency Committee for America

Brog is the chairman of the Emergency Committee for America, an organization dedicated to the defense of “US values” in favor of Israel and Zionism.

The Edmund Burke Foundation

Brog is also the president of the Edmund Burke Foundation, a Nationalist right-wing foundation based in The Hague, Netherlands. The foundation promotes anti-Islam rhetoric among young European and American audiences in the name of Nationalism and conservatism. It has offices in London, Washington and Rome.
