EL AL Cargo is a subsidiary of EL AL Israel. The company operates across a wide range spanning from East Asia to South America, with its headquarters at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel. The company was founded in the late 1950s by South African Zionists. EL AL cargo is also known for transporting 1,088 Ethiopian Jews to Israel during Operation Solomon in 1991.
Ronen Spira is the Head of Cargo at EL AL Israel Airlines. Spira holds a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Ben Gurion University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Harriott Watt University of Edinburgh School of Business.
It should be noted that the EL AL cargo division started its regular flights to Dubai immediately after the normalization of relations between Israel and the UAE.
The company also cooperates with the UAE-Israel Business Council (UIBC). The UIBC is the central and largest economic organization formed in the field of UAE/Israel economic relations. The council began operations immediately after the “Abraham Accords”. El Al Cargo is consequently part of the Israeli regime’s push to counter its growing international isolation by normalizing relations with despotic Arab regimes.
