Overview:
Hisham Farid is originally from Egypt but later immigrated to Israel in the 90s, where he later obtained citizenship and married. Today, he works as a journalist in Israel. His media presence as an “Israeli-Egyptian” has been used by the Zionist regime to exploit Arab world public opinion, especially targeting neighboring Egyptians. He is currently an employee of the Israeli network i24. Moreover, Farid is an Egyptian dialect instructor at the Israeli “Bar Ilan” University.
Residence and Work in Israel
Farid explains how he traveled to Israel as follows: “In the 90s, it was easy to travel between Israel and Egypt, and even in front of the Israeli embassy in Cairo, there were many applicants who formed a long line to travel to Israel. Like everyone else, I wanted to be in Israel. First, I went to [the Israeli port-city of] Eilat and saw many Egyptians there. One of my friends who was there, offered me a job in a restaurant with a great salary and so I stayed in Israel and got citizenship there”.1
Farid claims that he later became interested in media. Farid currently works as a news reporter in the Zionist i24 network. Farid also works as an Egyptian dialect instructor in the Zionist regime. The Israeli University “Bar Ilan” hosts the Egyptian accent course.2
Assisting Israeli Media & Intelligence Ops
Ever since Egypt recognized Israel following the Camp David Accords in 1978, relations between the two countries have been largely limited to political and economic ties. Due to security concerns, these ties have been largely managed and controlled by the Egyptian government. Consequently, Farid’s media appearance has assisted the Zionist regime to circumvent Cairo’s attempts to minimize Israel’s malign media influence in the country. Farid’s work, instructing Israelis on the Egyptian dialect, is also likely to be used by the Zionist regime’s security apparatus, more than anything else.
