Israel’s eye on US Jewish Diaspora
One of Israel’s most recent concerns is growing rifts between Israel-based and US-based Jewish attitude towards Israel.2 Ruderman’s task is a very vital one in this context for the Zionist regime, seeking to generate positive sentiment towards Israel among US-based Jews while simultaneously updating Israeli decision-makers on the matter. Ruderman has consequently organized missions to the United States for Israeli Knesset members and journalists. Ruderman has stated: “There was a leadership vacuum in educating Israelis about American Jews, and we stepped in to fill it”.3
His past positions have put him in a very adequate situation to lobby for Israeli interests among the US Jewish diaspora. Ruderman has served as deputy director of AIPAC and as its Leadership Director in Israel4 He sits on the board of Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. He is also a board member of the University of Haifa in Israel.5
