The Jewish News Syndicate (JNS) is a growing news agency observing Israel and the Jewish world. The JNS claims to provide news to more than 100 newspapers each week. The JNS has a very big emphasis on portraying Israel as one of the “best democracies in the world”.
The JNS’ editor in chief is Jonathan Tobin who also contributes to right-leaning European news outlets and institutions like the Gatestone Institute, an anti-Muslim think tank.12 The JNS is reported to have published articles with fake identity authors in order to spread Zionist propaganda, praising countries like the UAE for normalizing relations with Israel.3
The JNS is also known for generously lending support to rightwing Israeli parties and figures such as the Likud party and the aggressive approach of former Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The JNS’ support for Israel’s illegal annexation of West Bank – which was opposed by even the Israeli left – serves as one of such instances.4
