Jonathan Pollard is a former intelligence analyst for the United States government who was convicted of espionage against US for Israel and was sentenced for life.
His reason for betraying his nominal homeland was that “the American intelligence establishment collectively endangered Israel’s security by withholding crucial information.”1 He was also considered to have spied for other countries other than Israel, such as South Africa and Pakistan.
His leaked information provided Israeli authorities the necessary intelligence data for a terrorist attack on a Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) headquarter in Tunisia.2
Parole & Release
In 2015, Pollard was granted parole following much campaigning from US-based Zionists and the Israeli government. With the help of American Zionist billionaire Sheldon Adelson, he migrated to Israel a few years later. He was personally welcomed in Israel by former Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
Among his controversial claims are that Jews “will always have dual loyalty” & should consider spying for Israel.3
