Overview:
Matin and Nouri Mehdizadeh were at the forefront of attempts to intimidate a pro-Palestine encampment as part of a pro-Israel “counter-protest” accompanied by Nathan Moghavem at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the summer of 2024.
Documented Intimidation
Among the many instances of documented cases of Matin and Nouri Mehdizadeh taking part in pro-Israel agitation against the student encampment at the UCLA are:
• Matin Mehdizadeh and Nouri Mehdizadeh firing fireworks directly at the encampment at UCLA.
• Matin was involved in at least one attack against the press.1

• Nouri was seen assisting the organizers of the Israeli counter-protest, erecting large video screens portraying Zionist propaganda.
• Various cases where Nouri and Matin are seen shouting, verbally and physically abusing protesters and playing loud music meant to taunt pro-Palestine protestors

• Attempting to tear down barricades protecting the pro-Palestine encampment in the UCLA

Before a police raid on the students on campus on May 1, Nouri was seen holding his phone with a message that read “Enjoy Tonight”. A police raid that night led to hundreds of pro-Palestine students being arrested.
