Ruth Deech, Baroness Deech is a British politician and a member of the House of Lords. She is the former Principal of St Anne’s College, Oxford.
Ruth Deech was born in a Jewish family who migrated to the UK from Eastern Europe. She is considered as one of the most powerful people in the UK. The Observer included her as the 107th most powerful person in Britain, and in 2001, Deech was placed at no.26 in Channel 4’s “The God List”, which ranked “the fifty people of faith in Britain who exercise the most power and influence over our lives”.1
Zionist Lobby Groups in the UK
Deech is a Zionist and supports Israel. She acted as a director of Jewish National Fund (JNF) UK. JNF is a Zionist organization with its roots back to the beginning of the Zionist movement. Its main objective is to raise funds for different projects in Israel. JNF allegedly bought 13% of lands comprising Israel contributing to the creation of the Jewish state. It is important to note that Israel only bought this percentage of land from Palestinians or Ottoman officials, the rest was taken by force and aggression.
Deech is also a patron of the activist group UK Lawyers for Israel.2 UK Lawyers for Israel is a legal project aimed at defending Israeli interests in the UK through legal procedures. According to the Jewish Voice for Labour3 , ULFI is possibly funded and connected to the Israeli government.4
Dehumanizing Palestine & its Supporters
Ruth Deech believes that some of UK universities are becoming no-go zones for Jews because of increasing “antisemitism” and anti-Israel sentiment.5 She believes that Palestinians don’t want peace and are determined to destroy Israel and its Jewish population. She compares them with ISIS, seeking to persuade her audiences that no negotiations can result in mutual understanding.6
