Simon Falic is an American free-duty magnate. He is a member of the Jewish Falic family in Florida and owns a chain of free-duty shops named Duty Free Americas Shops. Simon alongside his brothers own the French fashion design house Christian Lacroix and the license to distribute Perry Ellis brand fragrances and cosmetics.1
Personal Connection to Netanyahu
The Falics, Including brothers Simon, Leon and Jerome with their mother Nily, enjoy a particular relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They regularly donate to his election campaigns. They have donated to Netanyahu’s campaigns more than any other donor. The Falics in 2012 donated $45,000 to him.2 Netanyahu also resided in Simon Falic’s villa in Jerusalem. This residence is known to be one of Netanyahu’s informal operation headquarters. A spokesman for the Falics said that “the Falics and Netanyahu families have been friends for decades. We cherish this connection, and look forward to many years of celebrating Jewish holidays and family celebrations together.” They also financially support other Likud party leaders.3
Bankrolling Kahanist Settlements in the West Bank
The Falic family pours millions of dollars into projects expanding illegal Zionist settlements in occupied Palestine. Simon Falic donated at least $5.6 million to settler organizations in the West Bank over the past decade.4 The Falics are supporters of ultranationalist Jewish causes. The Falic family have assisted the expansion of an illegal Jewish settlement in Hebron, adhering to the tenants of Jewish supremacist terrorist rabbi Meir Kahane. Such groups believe in establishment of the Third Temple in Jerusalem.5 They also support Jewish groups that covertly buy Palestinian properties in East Jerusalem. The family helped the construction of an illegal Jewish settlement in the West Bank which was later legalized by the Israeli government.6
Donating to American Politicians
The Falics have donated to various American politicians and presidential candidates. They have donated to Donald Trump’s election campaign7 and US members of Congress like Michele Bachmann and Eric Cantor and US senators like Mitt Romney and Charles Schumer. In general, the three Falic brothers along with other 12 members of the Falic family have made a total of 682 political donations in the US. 8
Nily Falic, His Mother
Simon Falic’s mother, Nily Falic was a Zionist political and cultural “philantropist” in the US who also donates to Israel. She was the chair of Friends of the Israeli Defence Force, a New York-based organization that raises funds for the Israeli army.9
