Overview:
Students Supporting Israel (SSI) is a pro-Israel organization dedicated to defending “Zionist ideals” in university campuses. It was first founded in the University of Minnesota in 2012 by Ilan Sinelnikov, Valeria Chazin and Naor Bitton. It currently has more than 45 chapters across the US and Canada.
SSI tries to portray Israel as a just and democratic nation which seeks peace. Any criticism against Israel is portrayed as being biased against Judaism.1
SSI seeks to promote what it calls “Israeli culture” among campus students in North America. It is also known to depict Palestinians as terrorists.
