Richard Perle is an American Zionist political advisor who served as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Global Strategic Affairs under President Ronald Reagan. During the George W.Bush administration, he served as chairman of the Defense Policy Board Advisory Committee.

Propping up the Zionist Neoconservative Movement

Perle was a key advisor to former US secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld in the Bush administration. He has been considered as the architect of the US invasion of Iraq.1 It is worth noting that Perle was also in contact with Ahmad Chalabi, an Iraqi citizen opposing Saddam Hussein, giving false information to the US intelligence community regarding Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction.2

Perle has worked for prominent neocon and Zionist think tanks such as the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), the Center for Security Policy, the American Enterprise Institute, Project for the New American Century, and the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA).

‘The Clean Break’

During Bill Clinton’s administration in 1996, Perle wrote a report titled “A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm” along with other Zionist foreign policy lobbyists such as David Wurmser. In this report Perle advocated for the removal of Saddam Hussein’s regime as being beneficial for Israel’s security. He also advocated for military interventions in Lebanon in favor of Israel. The report was delivered to then-Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.3

In the 9/11 post-war period, Perle wrote a book similar to the “Clean Break” report aimed at American audiences along with other influential Zionist neoconservatives at the time, including David Frum. The book, entitled “An End to Evil: How to Win the War on Terror”, called for abandoning the Palestine-Israel peace process, invading Syria and implementing strict domestic surveillance in the US.4
